It has been a few weeks but we are back with the HatTrick Sports Newsletter packed with everything happening in sports right now. This week we cover Bill Belichick missing first-round Hall of Fame, Super Bowl jerseys, Seahawks potentially going up for sale, top Super Bowl-winning teams, youngest QBs to start a Super Bowl, Jacob Wilson signing, Mets moves, Giants and Luis Arraez deal, MLB World Baseball Classic updates, and Paul George suspension. Let us dive in.
Bill Belichick Not First Ballot Hall of Famer
Shock alert, the greatest coach of ALL TIME did not get in on the first ballot. Belichick received 39 of the 40 votes needed with 50 voters. Fans are upset citing Spygate, Deflategate, or complaints about voters prioritizing coaches last year. Belichick has 6 Super Bowl rings as a head coach and 2 as defensive coordinator for the Giants and a 333-178 record. Don Shula went in first ballot and there is no doubt Belichick deserves the same respect.

Seahawks Up for Sale After Super Bowl LX
Rumors say the Seahawks could be sold after SB LX. Paul Allen's estate has owned the team since his death in 2018 but chatter has picked up after some coaching rumors surfaced just before the big game. The sale could bring in 7 to 8 billion dollars which would be a record for an NFL team and the estate plans to donate earnings to charity. The current owners say it is just rumors but it seems plausible.
Super Bowl 60 Jerseys
Uniform flex the Patriots are going all white while the Seahawks are rocking College Navy. Both teams have crushed it in these uniforms all season Hawks 6-0 and Patriots 5-0. This is the first Super Bowl with both teams going monochromatic. Style points aside both teams are set to look sharp while chasing history on the field.
Top Teams with Most Super Bowl Wins
6 wins Steelers/Patriots
5 wins Cowboys/49ers
4 wins Chiefs/Giants/Packers
Some of these dynasties are legendary some are recent powerhouses but winning rings never gets old.
Top 5 Youngest QBs to Start and Win a Super Bowl
1. Dan Marino | 23 years 127 days (1984 Dolphins lost to 49ers)
2. Drake Maye | 23 years 162 days (2026 Patriots TBD)
3. Ben Roethlisberger | 23 years 340 days (2005 Steelers won vs Seahawks)
4. Brock Purdy | 24 years 46 days 2023 (49ers lost to Chiefs)
5. David Woodley | 24 years 97 days (1982 Dolphins lost to Redskins)
Some of these QBs had pressure beyond their years some left their mark with rings others fell just short but all proved they belong on the big stage.
Jacob Wilson Signs with the A’s
The A’s signed Wilson on a 7 year 70 million dollar deal. Wilson finished second in ROY voting to Nick Kurtz hitting 311/355/444 with 13 home runs and 63 RBIs in 125 games. At first glance this feels like a steal if he pans out long term. The A’s are betting on potential and it could pay huge dividends.
Mets Add Kimbrel and Barnes to Minor League Deals
Both on minor league deals but veteran presence matters. Kimbrel has played for 10 teams and is a 9 time All Star. Barnes had a starring job in LA for a season or two. Both will be in Spring Training in Port St Lucie and while these are not headline grabbing moves depth and experience matter in April.
Giants Sign Luis Arraez
One year 12 million dollar contract. Giants infield is looking stacked with Arraez Devers Adames and Chapman. They are aiming to contend in the NL East or at least beat the Padres who have been stumbling with front office chaos.

World Baseball Classic Updates
Some big names will not be playing this year. Shohei Ohtani will skip pitching but will DH for Team Japan. Roki Sasaki will not pitch because of team requests. Miguel Rojas can not play for Venezuela because of insurance issues at 37 which is a rough way to end a career. MLB is protecting players but fans want a competitive WBC. Puerto Rico even considered pulling out entirely.
